Canada’s Express Entry draw results from May 10, 2023

The most recent round of invitations for Canada’s Express Entry program took place on May 10, 2023, and here are the draw results.

On this occasion, the 12th draw of 2023, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence (PR) to 589 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

This draw marks a departure from the previous five consecutive all-program draws. All-program draws consider candidates from three immigration programs managed within the Express Entry system: the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

In this draw, candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 691 were invited to apply. This CRS cut-off score is 57 points lower than the minimum score of 748 in the previous PNP-only draw held on March 1.

Candidates who have not received an ITA in this draw remain in the Express Entry pool and can anticipate the possibility of another draw in approximately two weeks.

About the Express Entry program

Express Entry serves as Canada’s federal system for managing immigration applications from the CEC, FSWP, and FSTP.

The Canadian government employs Express Entry to attract skilled foreign workers and offer them permanent residency in Canada. Through this application management system, eligible international workers within the candidate pool are provided an opportunity to start a new life in Canada while contributing to the country’s economy and society. Immigration is crucial to Canada’s growth and development, and Express Entry draws play a vital role in fulfilling the nation’s immigration goals.

To apply for Canadian permanent residency through Express Entry, candidates must first receive an ITA. Becoming eligible for Express Entry entails several steps, including self-assessment of eligibility for at least one of the three programs. Eligible candidates can then create an online Express Entry profile with IRCC, which allows them to review their CRS score.

All candidates in the Express Entry pool must patiently await the next draw conducted by IRCC. Candidates with CRS scores above the cut-off score for that particular draw will receive an ITA and can proceed to submit an electronic Application for Permanent Residence (eAPR) to IRCC within 60 days of receiving the ITA.
